CAAB announces flight crew technical exam schedule

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has announced examination schedule for flight crew technical tests, set to begin from Monday at CAAB headquarters in Kurmitola.

Md Saiful Haque Shah, Director of Personnel Licensing, Examination and Training at Flight Standard and Regulations Division, issued the notification. Interested candidates must submit applications through proper channels along with examination fees by November 27.

Examinations will cover Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, Airline Transport Pilot Licence and Flight Operations Officer Licence categories. Tests include type technical assessments for aspiring and practising pilots. 

Programme runs from December 1 to 11, covering nine core subjects. Aircraft General Knowledge exam starts on Monday from 10:30am to 12:30pm, followed by Radio Telephony on next day.

Navigation, Operations Procedures, Aviation Law, Flight Performance and Planning, Principles of Flight, Human Performance and Meteorology examinations follow on subsequent days.

Final day on December 11 includes all type technical, composite, instrument rating and initial type rating tests. All examinations take place at CAAB headquarters' fourth floor in the old building.

Authority has strictly prohibited mobile phones, smart watches and electronic devices that may interfere with examinations. Candidates can bring specific flight planning tools including CAP 696, 697, 698 documents, Jeppesen CR-3 flight computer, mathematical instruments, non-programmable calculators and trigonometric tables.

Electronic versions of flight computers will not be allowed during examinations, officials confirmed.
