Foreign travellers to China can now submit mandatory Arrival
Cards online before departure, streamlining immigration procedures and reducing
processing time at entry points.
National Immigration Administration launched the digital
system allowing visitors to complete documentation through four official
channels. Travellers may use NIA's official website, Government Service
Platform, NIA 12367 mobile app or QR code scanning to fill the form in advance.
System aims to deliver quicker processing and more efficient
immigration experience upon arrival. Visitors who cannot complete the card
beforehand may still fill it at Chinese immigration checkpoints using QR codes
or smart self-service kiosks.
Several categories of travellers remain exempt from the
requirement. Holders of China Foreign Permanent Resident ID, Mainland Travel
Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents with non-Chinese nationality, and
group visa holders do not need to complete the card.
Transit passengers staying within restricted areas for under
24 hours, cruise passengers entering and exiting on the same vessel, fast lane
users and foreign employees of exit-entry transport vehicles are also excluded
from the mandate.
Digital initiative reflects China's ongoing efforts to
modernise border control procedures and enhance visitor experience. Move
particularly benefits Bangladeshi business travellers, students and tourists
visiting China, who can now avoid queues and paper-based processes at
immigration counters.
Official NIA website provides detailed instructions and access
to the online submission portal at https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/
System represents significant upgrade from traditional
manual card completion at airports and land borders.
