Jeddah Airports Company has begun phased operations at Terminal 4 of King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA), gradually shifting airlines to the new facility to redistribute passenger traffic, increase capacity, and improve travel procedures.

The transition began Sunday, with Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir operating the first flights to move to Terminal 4. Additional carriers will follow in stages over the coming week under an approved transition plan, according to Jeddah Airports Company.

The relocation schedule includes Fly Jinnah moving from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals (B3) and Nesma Airlines transferring from the North Terminal on Monday, September 28.

Akasa Air is scheduled to move from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals on Tuesday, September 29, followed by SyrianAir and Pegasus transferring from the North Terminal on Thursday, October 1, and Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair moving from the North Terminal on Saturday, October 3.

Jeddah Airports Company said further carriers would be transferred gradually based on operational requirements.

The plan will eventually relocate all foreign airlines currently operating from the North Terminal, along with selected foreign carriers presently based at Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah Terminals, the company said.

Terminal 4 covers 97,000 square metres and has an annual capacity of up to 15 million passengers. The facility is equipped with advanced operational systems and modern amenities, including a dedicated area for group check-in procedures for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, and is designed to serve international low-cost carriers.

The expansion follows record passenger traffic at King Abdulaziz International Airport, which handled 53.4 million passengers in 2025, its highest annual total to date. The move supports Saudi Arabia's aviation growth targets under Vision 2030, which aims for the airport to serve more than 90 million passengers annually by 2030.
