Bangladesh has made medical screening mandatory for all pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2026 before receiving compulsory vaccinations, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
In a notification issued on Tuesday by the ministryâs Hajj-1 Wing, authorities said pilgrims must complete a set of prescribed health examinations by January 25, 2026, as determined by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The mandatory tests include urine analysis, random blood sugar, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram (ECG), serum creatinine, complete blood count with ESR, and blood grouping with Rh typing.
The notice said additional investigationsâsuch as echocardiography, ultrasound scans, endoscopy, CT scans, sputum tests for tuberculosis, and liver function testsâmay be required depending on a pilgrimâs medical condition.
Pilgrims have been instructed to submit their medical test reports along with copies of their e-health profiles to the designated vaccination centers.
Vaccination will only be administered after clearance from the medical team.
For further information, pilgrims may contact the Hajj call center at 16136, the ministry added.
