The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives has advised Bangladeshi expatriate workers to obtain copies of their newly issued e-visas after the countryâs immigration authorities automatically voided all previous sticker visas when the e-visa system went live on November 23.
Under the new procedure, work-visa sticker endorsements issued earlier have been cancelled, with updated e-visas now integrated into the Maldivian Expatriate System (FSM). Companies can download the new e-visas directly from the system.
The High Commission urged Bangladeshi workers to collect a copy of their e-visa from employers and keep it with them, as law enforcement agencies may request it at any time.
Authorities said each e-visa carries a QR code that allows instant verification. Workers can also check their visa validity independently on the Maldives Immigration website by entering their nationality and passport number.
