Emirates unveils next-generation airport lounge concept for global rollout

Emirates has unveiled a new airport lounge design that will be introduced across key destinations in its global network this year, beginning with newly redesigned lounges in Munich and Frankfurt, as the Dubai-based carrier continues to invest in enhancing its premium ground experience.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, Emirates said the next-generation lounge concept will serve as the blueprint for its airport lounges worldwide, with Manchester, Mauritius, and Istanbul scheduled to receive the redesigned facilities later this year.

The airline said it plans to invest well over 50 million UAE dirhams (about $13.6 million) in each next-generation lounge, reflecting its continued focus on premium travel and customer experience.

According to Emirates, the redesigned lounges feature architecture and interiors inspired by the airline's latest cabin products, offering dedicated areas for work, dining, relaxation, and socialising. The facilities also incorporate integrated technology, locally inspired food and beverage options, wellness-focused amenities, and enhanced privacy for premium travellers.

"Our investment in our next-generation signature lounge concept reflects Emirates' continued commitment to delivering a seamless, premium experience at every stage of the journey," said Adel Al Redha, the airline's Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer.

He said the new lounges combine refreshed interiors with the hospitality and innovation associated with the Emirates brand and are intended to establish a new benchmark for airport lounges across the airline's global network.

Emirates said the lounges include more than 50 design enhancements, including distinct workspaces equipped with wireless charging and universal power outlets, expanded dining areas centred on live cooking stations, and dedicated barista and mixologist services offering speciality beverages and locally inspired cocktails.

The airline also highlighted upgraded shower suites featuring spa-style finishes, quiet zones designed for rest during layovers, prayer rooms with ablution facilities, private meeting spaces, and breastfeeding rooms. All lounges will continue to operate as silent environments to provide a quieter atmosphere for travellers.

Access to Emirates lounges will remain complimentary for First Class and Business Class passengers and Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, including eligible travellers flying in Premium Economy and Economy Class. Paid access will also continue to be available.

Emirates currently operates 42 dedicated airport lounges worldwide, including eight at Dubai International Airport and 34 at major international airports across its network.

The airline said additional lounges will adopt the new concept as it continues to invest in ground facilities aimed at improving comfort, convenience, and service for premium travellers across its international network.
