An initiative has been taken to take Sharif Osman Hadi, a key leader of the July Uprising, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, to Singapore by air ambulance this afternoon for advanced medical treatment, BSS reports.
The decision was taken at an emergency teleconference held under the directive of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, said the Chief Adviser's Press Wing.
Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on Health and Family Welfare Ministry Professor Dr. Md. have been involved in the decision-making process. Sayedur Rahman, Evercare Hospital specialist Dr. Jafar, and Osman Hadi's brother Omar Bin Hadi joined the teleconference.
Over the past two days, the government has been in contact with several hospitals in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia regarding Osman Hadi's treatment.
Based on the advice of Evercare Hospital's team of specialist doctors and after consultations with family members, the Chief Adviser has been informed about the matter.
Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman informed him that currently Osman Hadi's physical condition remains unchanged.
According to the press wing, Osman Hadi will be sent to Singapore tomorrow afternoon for advanced treatment. Necessary preparations, including a medical air ambulance, a medical team, and all travel-related arrangements, have already been completed.
All required treatment arrangements have also been made at the accident emergency department of Singapore General Hospital.
Meanwhile, an authoritative source at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed that the air ambulance transporting Hadi has requested clearance to land in Dhaka tomorrow at 10:30 AM and to depart for Singapore from Dhaka at 1:30 PM. It remains unverified who will accompany Hadi.
The government will bear all expenses related to Osman Hadi's treatment.
