The Embassy of Bangladesh in Amman has clarified reports circulating through various channels claiming that the Jordanian government has announced a general amnesty for unauthorised migrant workers residing in the country.
In a public advisory issued on Tuesday (June 2), the embassy urged Bangladeshi expatriates to exercise caution regarding such claims.
According to the embassy, it has not received any information indicating that a "general amnesty" has been announced or is going to be announced in Jordan.
The embassy stated that if the Jordanian government makes any such declaration, it will be officially communicated through the embassyâs website and Facebook page, along with the necessary guidance and instructions.
The embassy also advised expatriates not to believe false information or fraudulent campaigns. It urged Bangladeshi nationals in Jordan to follow updates published on the embassyâs official website and Facebook page and to remain vigilant to avoid being misled or scammed.
