SalamAir expands Bangladesh network with new direct Muscat–Sylhet flights

SalamAir has announced the expansion of its Bangladesh operations with the launch of a new direct flight service between Muscat and Sylhet, further strengthening air connectivity between Oman and Bangladesh.

The airline confirmed that the new route to Osmani International Airport will commence in September 2026 and operate three times weekly. The addition of Sylhet marks a significant expansion of SalamAir’s presence in Bangladesh, complementing its existing services to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Shah Amanat International Airport.

With this development, SalamAir will become the first foreign airline to operate scheduled flights across all three international airports in Bangladesh, underscoring its strategy to strengthen connectivity in high-demand but underserved markets. The airline said the new service will enhance travel options for passengers across Oman, including convenient connections via Muscat as well as feeder traffic from Salalah.

The Muscat–Sylhet route is expected to serve strong demand from Bangladesh’s expatriate community in the Gulf, alongside growing needs for family travel, tourism, and business mobility. One-way promotional fares for the new service start from OMR 66.99.

SalamAir highlighted that Sylhet is one of Bangladesh’s fastest-growing aviation markets, serving a population of over 10 million people and known for its expanding diaspora connectivity. The airline also noted that Bangladesh continues to record annual aviation growth of around 7.5%, driven by increasing international travel demand and economic activity.

According to the airline, bookings for the new route are now open through its official website, mobile application, and authorized travel agents.
