The United States Embassy in Dhaka on Monday urged Bangladeshi travellers and others in the country to comply with American immigration law, warning against overstaying authorised periods of admission.
In a notice posted on its verified Facebook page, the embassy reminded those lawfully admitted to the United States that they can access their Form I-94âthe official record of their authorised period of stayâthrough a dedicated government portal at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov.
"Prevent overstays and remain compliant with U.S. immigration law," the embassy said, urging travellers to review and print their official admission records and ensure they depart the United States before their authorised stay expires.
The Form I-94, issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), determines how long a foreign national may legally remain in the country after entry. Overstaying the authorized periodâeven by a single dayâcan result in bars on future entry, visa revocations, or deportation.
