Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of daily direct flights between Doha and Philadelphia from August 1, 2026, expanding its North American network and strengthening connectivity between the United States and destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
In a statement, the Doha-based carrier said the reinstated service will operate daily between Hamad International Airport in Doha and Philadelphia International Airport, marking the airline’s return to Pennsylvania’s largest city after a suspension of operations on the route.
The airline will operate the flights using Airbus A350-900 aircraft equipped with Qatar Airways’ Qsuite business-class product and Starlink high-speed internet service. The airline said more than 140 aircraft in its fleet are now fitted with Starlink connectivity, making it the largest operator of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft worldwide.
According to the announced schedule, flight QR727 will depart Doha at 0800 local time and arrive in Philadelphia at 1505. The return service, QR728, will leave Philadelphia at 2130 and arrive in Doha at 1700 the following day.
Qatar Airways said the resumed route reflects its continued commitment to the U.S. market and will offer passengers improved access to its global network of more than 160 destinations through its hub in Doha. The airline added that travellers departing from Philadelphia will also benefit from onward connections within the United States through its oneworld alliance partner, American Airlines.
The move further expands Qatar Airways’ footprint in North America, where it currently serves 14 destinations. The airline began operations to the United States in 2007 with flights to New York and has since developed an extensive transatlantic network that includes services to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., as well as Montreal and Toronto in Canada.
The resumption of Philadelphia services is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers in the northeastern United States while strengthening Qatar Airways’ position in the North American market. The airline announced that passengers can now book the route through its website and mobile application.
