CAAB chairman inspected Chattogram airport before ICAO audit

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) chairman Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq inspected Shah Amanat International Airport (Chattogram airport) ahead of upcoming International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Audit 2026.
On Tuesday, CAAB chairman reviewed operational activities, security measures and overall preparedness. Airport Director Group Captain Sheikh Abdullah Almgir briefed him on infrastructure development, operational readiness and security enhancement initiatives.
Briefing highlighted steps taken to increase operational capacity, improve passenger services, modernize security systems and comply with international standards. Siddiq detailed various measures adopted specifically for upcoming ICAO audit.
He conducted site inspection of critical airport areas including perimeter walls, arrival and departure zones, VOR installation and other security-related facilities. He toured operational sites to assess ground-level preparedness.
During inspection, CAAB chairman met passengers to gather feedback on airport services and facilities. He received passenger opinions seriously and provided necessary guidance to concerned officials for further service improvements.
Siddiq directed officials to accelerate operational progress, enhance passenger service quality, take effective steps to reduce passenger suffering and strengthen overall airport security. He emphasized ensuring adequate preparation for successfully handling upcoming ICAO audit.
CAAB chairman stressed on proper implementation of ICAO standards and recommendations. He instructed officials to maintain international civil aviation norms throughout airport operations.
Member operations Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan and Member Security Air Commodore Mohammad Asif Iqbal accompanied chairman along with various CAAB officials during inspection.
