Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said Tuesday it has delivered the first factory-new Embraer E175 regional jet to Nigeria's Air Peace, a move aimed at strengthening domestic and regional connectivity in West Africa as the airline expands its fleet and route network.

The delivery marks a further expansion of the partnership between Embraer and Air Peace, which already operates the larger E195-E2 and the ERJ145 regional jet. Embraer said the E175 would provide the airline with greater operational flexibility and additional capacity for domestic and regional services.

"We are delighted to deliver this first factory-new E175 to our partners at Air Peace," said Arjan Meijer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation.

He said the delivery underscored continued demand for "right-sized" aircraft as airlines seek to improve regional connectivity while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards.

Air Peace Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Allen Onyema described the aircraft's arrival as "a major milestone" in the airline's expansion strategy.

"The delivery of our first Embraer E175 is a major milestone in Air Peace's growth, reflecting our commitment to boosting domestic and regional travel with a modern, efficient fleet," Onyema said. He added that the aircraft would increase the airline's operational flexibility and market reach while maintaining safety, reliability, and passenger service.

According to Embraer, the E175 is expected to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and provide lower operating costs on thin and medium-density routes. The manufacturer said the aircraft is well suited to markets where demand does not justify larger narrow-body jets and that it offers enhanced passenger comfort.

The aircraft is expected to support increased flight frequencies on key domestic routes in Nigeria and enable Air Peace to launch services to four additional African cities, further expanding its regional network.

Embraer said Africa's aviation market is poised for long-term growth, with population growth, urbanization, and rising demand for air travel driving this trend. Citing its 2026 Africa Connectivity Report, the company said 55 city pairs across the continent currently lack direct air services, up from 45 identified in the previous year's report, highlighting opportunities for airlines to open new regional routes using appropriately sized aircraft.

The delivery forms part of Embraer's strategy to strengthen its presence in Africa's expanding aviation market while supporting airlines seeking to improve regional connectivity.
